Machining

Offering one of the largest plastics machining facilities in the UK, dedicating 20,000 sq.ft. to bespoke manufacturing, the conversion of engineering rod, sheet and tube plastic into precision-machined components is central to the development of our business. At ABG we have a machining facility dedicated solely to the machining of plastic materials only and one that is committed to meeting all of the requirements and qualifications of our customers. Continued investment in machinery and personnel has enabled us to develop strong customer relationships where advice is offered on product design and suitability. ABG are dedicated to developing, improving and providing cost-effective solutions to engineering problems in plastic.

Milling
8 vertical machining centres enables us to handle a wide variety of work, from one-off complex prototypes and production spares to high volume batch component work. Accurate milling of plastic materials, many of which have a degree of instability, calls for precision machines and skilled and experienced programming and operation.

Turning
Our CNC controlled lathes with live tooling provide our turning department with a platform to accommodate a variety of parts from small thin walled bushes to large diameter pulleys. Bar feeding capacity up to 90mm diameter eliminates a great deal of material preparation time and cost.

Routing
Our investment extends to full CAD-CAM design for our selection of large router beds dealing with the larger machined panel work. With bed sizes up to 3000mm x 2000mm this fully complements our range of machining capabilities.

Quality
The inspection of materials and parts during every process provides a base for our excellent quality assurance record. Dealing with a variety of Blue Chip companies means complete traceability of all materials used and documented quality control procedures which are available upon request.
